Julia grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she obtained her Juris Doctor from the University of Manitoba. During law school she was awarded the Max and Manly Isaacs Prize for Legal Methods. In this time she worked closely with the Surface Rights Board of Manitoba, and was instrumental in revamping its capabilities. Prior to attending law school, Julia completed her Bachelor of Arts, Honors degree at the University of Manitoba, with a major in Political Studies and a minor in Management. During her bachelor’s degree she was awarded the Deans Honor List and the Senior Course Paper Prize.
Julia values community involvement, having volunteered and held leadership positions for organizations which include the University of Manitoba Legal Clinic, Pro Bono Students Canada, Level Justice, Manitoba Mutts Dog Rescue, St. John Ambulance (as an emergency medical first responder), as well as various political campaigns. She looks forward to her involvement in the Grande Prairie community.
When not in the office, Julia enjoys hiking, kayaking and mountain biking, along with weight lifting, yoga and travelling.
