Krista Balsom brings a diverse background in law, communications, advocacy and public service to her practice. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Saskatchewan in 2024 and was called to the Alberta Bar in 2025. Prior to practicing law, Krista was the founder and CEO of Balsom Communications Inc., where she led a successful team delivering strategic communications, event management, and community-based initiatives across the Wood Buffalo region. Her career has also included roles at all three levels of government, including Parliament Hill, the Alberta Legislature, and as an elected municipal councillor in Fort McMurray.
Krista focuses her practice on family law, where she is committed to helping clients navigate some of life’s most difficult transitions. She takes a child-first approach, ensuring the well-being of children remains central in every matter. Her experience in leadership, advocacy, and community engagement allows her to provide clients with practical guidance, strong representation, and compassionate support.
Outside the office, Krista is deeply involved in her community. She serves as Treasurer and Executive Member of the Board of Directors for the Bonnyville and District Chamber of Commerce and sits on the Board of the Bonnyville Health Foundation. She enjoys hosting gatherings for friends and family, and has a passion for cooking and travelling. A proud mother of two, Murphy and Bobby keep her busy and inspired.
