Matt was born in Lethbridge, Alberta but moved to Calgary early on. He later returned to Lethbridge where he earned his B.A in English, with distinction, from the University of Lethbridge. During his final year of law school, Matt was the co-editor-in-chief for the Alberta Law Review at the University of Calgary. Matt held a research assistant’s position for the N. Murray Edwards Chair of Business Law. He analyzed small business issues and structural concerns during his tenure in this position.
Matt’s interests and experience have pushed him towards business law, agricultural law, estates, and family law, with a specific focus on cybersecurity, privacy, and technology issues, but he maintains a general practice focusing on many areas of law
Matt enjoys being active in his free time. Matt and several members of his family have made it an annual event to compete in the Moonlight Run. Matt is also a writer and editor who intends to complete a novel he has been working on shortly.
