ALISON J. CHICKLOSKI

Alison understands divorce, separation and custody disputes can be a very upsetting and difficult time in a person’s life. She believes that there are many ways to settle and get resolution of a matter and uses her experience and training in mediation, negotiation, and arbitration to help her guide her clients through the process and avoid impulsive reactions.

Skilled in a variety of areas of family law, Alison drafts separation, cohabitation and prenuptial agreements providing efficient and effective settlements. When a resolution cannot be reached through mediation or negotiation, Alison has successfully appeared before the Alberta Court of Justice, the Court of King’s Bench, and the Court of Appeal for custody, access, and family property actions. Alison is also a trained and practicing mediator and arbitrator for matters with or without counsel present. She is also proudly a Child Support Resolution Officer assisting the Court of King’s Bench by keeping matters out of the often busy court system.  Alison is a firm believer in access to justice and will represent clients not only in Calgary, but also in other areas of the province by utilizing remote technology and attending in-person only when needed.

She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association, the Calgary Bar Association, Registered Collaborative Family Lawyers, Alberta Family Mediation Society,  Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) and the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of Alberta (ADRIA).

Alison is passionate helping about helping animal charities (she’s never met a dog didn’t love at first sight) and talking about her Japanese dogs. Her perfect vacation is heading to a festival to listen to her favourite artists, putting her toes in the sand or eating at a restaurant she saw on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives.  Growing up outside of Edmonton, she still cheers for her beloved Edmonton Oilers, despite living in Calgary for over 20 years.
