Doug grew up on a mixed farming operation just outside Swift Current and has been an integral member of the community. He graduated from the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Law in 1974 and was called to the bar on July 3, 1975. Having served Swift Current for the duration of his career, Doug’s practice is focused primarily in the areas of real estate, small business and wills and estates. He is presently active in the Swift Current Shrine Club as well as a past member of Kinsmen, the Kiwanis Club and a past Director on the Southwest Crisis Services. He and his wife Brenda have been married for 40+ years and have a son, daughter, and four grandchildren. While he grew up playing hockey and baseball, Doug likes to say that in his “advancing age”, he sticks to golf.
