Born and raised on a ranch outside of Oyen, Hailey had her first taste of city life when she ventured to Lethbridge to earn her Bachelor of Arts with great distinction. She then moved to Edmonton to earn her JD with distinction. During her time at the University of Alberta, she participated in Law Show, volunteered for Edmonton Community Legal Centre, and worked as a day-leader for Student Legal Services, providing legal assistance to low-income individuals in Edmonton.

Through these roles, Hailey cultivated an interest in family law, employment law, insurance law, and wills and estates.

Outside of work, Hailey enjoys horseback riding, playing cards, camping, and spending time on the ranch.
