We’re in search of an exceptional individual to assume the challenging role of Legal Assistant, supporting a thriving practice in Banff, Alberta. The ideal candidate should have 1-2 years of experience in an office setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suite proficiently to draft, format, and edit documents and presentations.
  • Answer incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate personnel efficiently and courteously.
  • Greet clients professionally and direct them as necessary.
  • Process and receipt payments accurately.
  • Conduct conflict of interest searches to ensure compliance.
  • Open and close client files following firm procedures.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring timely distribution.
  • Perform additional duties as required to support the legal team and office operations.
  • Prepare, transcribe, and organize general correspondence and legal documents across various practice areas with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Manage and maintain legal and administrative files, ensuring proper indexing and tracking.
  • Receive, sort, and prioritize files  and maintain an up-to-date calendar to ensure timely responses and deadlines are met.

Qualifications:

  • Impeccable attention to detail, consistently delivering high-quality work with precision.
  • Proficiency in advanced computer skills, coupled with strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Self-reliance and confidence in working independently.
  • Aptitude for critical thinking to assess the strengths and weaknesses of potential solutions and approaches to issues.
  • Clear and effective communication, both in written and verbal forms.
  • Professional demeanor, including adept management of client inquiries, collaboration with colleagues, lawyers, external clients, and outside service providers.
  • Experience with Cosmolex and NetDocs is a plus

Compensation & Working Hours:

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. Regular full-time position with working hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM subject to change from time to time.
